Recently, we are proud to have our first international interns Daniela Aguirre.
Daniella in medellin Colombia EAFIT studying at the university of international business.In 2022 fall semester, she left the andes mountains to the Rocky Mountains, work in our head office is located in Salt Lake City.
Her emphasis on marketing and enthusiasm of the professional ethics to make her very suitable for one of our internship.In a few months, she in different areas of the company's rotation, such as communications, human resources, marketing, and multiple products department, in order to obtain comprehensive experience of Merit.
Daniela and we sat down to the details about her harvest, ideas and Suggestions to the future intern.
Q. Growing up, what is your dream occupation?
A. I want to be A doctor.I like to work with children, so I want to specialize in a pediatrician.But, when I go to career oriented analysis of the test to check my skill sets the most conforms to the field, I found I was more suitable for business.That's when I decided to engage in international business.
Q: what makes you tend to Merit the internship?
A. I fell in love with the passion behind the medical device industry.The Merit, I found that I can be what I originally wanted to pursue, medical research, and I are doing together.This is a perfect combination.I can help people, not necessarily as a doctor, but in the background to help doctors for their patients to get change life of products.
Q: describe a time you in our work during the internship.
Answer: each rotation in my internship, I participated in the various projects.I especially like digital marketing, because it is closely related to my university courses.In addition, I also developed for Merit latino community outreach programs, is designed to promote inclusion in the work.Traditional Latin month since I was with our team and how to realize this important moment for cooperation.
Q: what is your next after graduation?Merit how to help you prepare for personal and professional goals?
A. I'd like to continue to work in the fields of medical equipment.Basic knowledge in the university, they teach you;But after graduation, learn how to apply it to your work up to you.Merit gives me into the knowledge required for medical devices industry.They have the necessary video, training and experience to improve my skills.Now I feel ready for what was happening in the next.
On a personal level, I found the Merit is like a family.Anyway, everyone is willing to help you with patience and friendliness.If I have to ask a question 100 times, my manager will answer 100 times.I think I found own position.I not only on the professional growth, but also as a person to grow up.
Q. for students want to work in the medical field, what do you suggest?How can they succeed - whether in the Merit or other place?
A. stay open to new experiences.Merit of the founder and chief executive, Fred Lampropoulos gave me this advice: "willing to do what others don't want to do."These are of great help to me.As you can, if you are not sure how to complete the task, please ask for help.While maintaining independence in respect for others and to promote teamwork is also very important.Do what you can learn and apply it to your work.100% of teamwork with you, but don't rely on them.Take responsibility.
